26 November 2024, Old Royal Naval College, Greenwich, United Kingdom
The Atlantic Future Forum exists to strengthen the defence, security, technology, and trading relationships between democratic nations.
The Atlantic Future Forum took place on Tuesday 26 November 2024 at the Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich, London. The Forum is one of the UK’s international leadership events helping to inform, debate and shape responses to the geopolitical trends and challenges confronting the UK and its allies. AFF brings together senior politicians, policy makers and military chiefs, together with entrepreneurs, business leaders and academia from the United Kingdom, United States, European Union and our international partners.
The theme for the 2024 Forum was The New World of Geopolitics: New Alliances, New Capabilities, New Challenges. The one-day conference in November took place following the outcome of the US Presidential election, the appointment of a new NATO Secretary General and the formation of new governments in the UK and France. It sought to reflect on the security conflicts to Europe’s near East, including in Ukraine and the Middle East, while also casting its gaze further East to the looming threats in the Indo-Pacific. A fresh assessment of strategic priorities, the need for increased collaboration with allies and the need for hard choices on investment and capabilities shaped the Forum agenda.
In 2025, the Pacific Future Forum will reconvene in the Indo-Pacific.
